Candidate for admission to B.Sc Nursing Course at Noorul Islam College of Nursing, Neyyattinkara require the following:-

1. The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission.
2. The minimum educational requirement shall be passing of:- Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course)
Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2), Predegree Examination
An equivalent with 12 year Schooling from a recognize Board or University with science [Physics, Chemistry, Biology] and English with 50% of aggregate marks.
3. Candidate shall be medically fit.
Good Character and Conduct.


Eligibility Criteria / Admission Requirements:

1. The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council.
2. The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of regular degree course in Nursing – (B.Sc Nursing / B.Sc Hons, Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc Nursing), with minimum of 55% aggregate marks, in an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
3. Minimum one year of experience after Basic B.Sc Nursing. One year compulsory nursing service/ internship after successful completion of four year B.Sc Nursing can be considered as experience.
4. Minimum one year of experience prior or after regular Post Basic B.Sc Nursing.
5. Candidate shall be medically fit.
6. Relaxation of marks for SC/ST candidates may be given as per state government norms.




            Discipline is the backbone of a good personality and is the cover stone  of a strong character.

            Every student is bound to  follow the rules of NIMS College of Nursing and shall maintain strict discipline in the campus, in the clinical areas, project work areas, in the institution vehicles and all other places of work and duty.

            The discipline and training enrich the knowledge and also shape the personality of a student to become a responsible citizen.

  1. Students must respect their faculty and staff and address them with respect.
  2. A student shall not leave their class/laboratory/clinical/ without permission.
  3. Students will not be allowed to leave the campus or the work area without the permission of the principal
  4. Loitering about in the verandas and in the campus  is strictly prohibited. During free hours, if any, they shall go to library.
  5. Students should co-operate with the authorities to keep the campus, classrooms and all work places inside and outside, clean and tidy.
  6. Students are forbidden from scribbling on the walls/scratching and thumping themselves in any form destructive activities.
  7. Any damage done to the furniture, lab, equipments, other fittings or any institutional property will be fixed heavily and concerned students will be punished. If the offender is not traceable, collective fine and punishment will be imposed on those found to be involved.
  8. Without any prior written permission of the principal, students are strictly forbidden from:-

-      Organizing or attending any unauthorized meetings in the institution / campus.

-      Collecting money for any purpose.

-      Taking part in anti-social activities

  1. Students are strictly forbidden from:-

-      Organizing union / association based on caste, nationality, language / controversial political ideology within the campus.  Counseling for any sessions personal / academic problems or for bringing to the notice of their lecturer in charge / other faculty in the right spirit, any reasonable grievances  or difficulty they might have.

  1. Students should be punctual to classes and must be present in     the clinical in time.
  2. Students who are not reporting for classes on time will be considered as late comers and will be given necessary punishments.

Working Hours

      Regular classes in NIMS College of Nursing will commence from 8 am and will end at 5 pm. Lunch break is scheduled from 1 pm to 2 pm. However, the clinical postings will commence from 8 am and may extend up to 1 pm or 4 pm depending upon the requirements.


1.   All students one expected to be punctual in all theory, practical, project and the clinical classes.

2.   Attendance will be taken in all classes at the beginning of each period / session.

3.   Leave application in the prescribed from shall be  submitted in advance  for anticipated reasons  to the principal, through the class co-ordinator with the signature  before availing  leave and immediately after leave for emergency reasons.

4.    Every student shall put in a minimum of 80% ( in theory and practical  / clinical experience)  of the working days attendance  to become eligible for the University Examination.

5.   A student absenting himself/herself from the institution for more than one  consecutive working days without satisfactory leave application is liable to be removed from the rolls.


1.   All students are expected to be decently and modestly dressed in classes.

2.   The dress code for students specifies churidhar kurta (with dupatta) for girls and trousers tucked in for boys. Girls should put up their hair neatly and boys shall be clean shaved.

3.   The uniform colour prescribed  for the institution is compulsory

     Boys:       Cream colour shirt

                    Black pants and white overcoat (in clinicals)

                    Black shoes

     Girls:     Green churidhar kurta with cream dupatta and botton,  

                  and white overcoat ( in clinicals)

                  Black shoes

For community

          Boys:      Cream shirt and black pants

          Girls:      Pink saree with high neck blouse

Ragging is a criminal offence and is banned.

1.   Ragging in any form inside or outside the campuses is identified as a barbarian act and criminal offence by the honorable court’s  in the country and necessary laws and acts have been promulgated by the Govt. of India, Govt. of Kerala & KUHS banning the same.

2.   If any student is found  or reportedly found to be involved  in ragging or found to be abetting  ragging will be dismissed from the academy and an FIR will be filed with local police as per the recent directions of the Honorable supreme court and Govt. of Kerala

3.   All senior students shall welcome the junior students cordially and extend a hand of friendship.

Mobile Phones are banned

  1. Students are strictly forbidden from bringing cellular phones inside the campus
  2. If any student is found in possession of an mobile phone in the campus & hostel, it will be returned only after the completion of the course after collecting a fine

Phone calls :   -   Students are not permitted to receive phone calls

                          during working hours.

-                  However, in an emergency, message will be conveyed  to the student, if found necessary

Identity Cards   

            Each student of the college is expected to process an identity card his/her recent. Photographs affixed in it. Students are expected to wear  the ID card always in the institution and other duty places.
